The Big Idea

This video of an American Football Team from Glasgow in the 1980s has been floating around the interwebernet for a wee while now. It's a bit of a laugh and it makes me do *that thing* that I do when I watch old Taggart episodes. If you're Glaswegian you'll know... you try and workout where it was filmed; you try and see if you recognise anyone; you look at the cars and buses and say to yourself "I remember when that guy at the end of the street had a Cortina like that"... and so on.

And then it hit me... would it be possible to try and find out who the lead protagonist is? Did he play for the Diamonds or was he brought in as a guest rapper? (like when Gavin Hastings played kicker for the Scottish Claymores?) And would there be any way to get them back together for a remix?? I'm game for trying it.

The starting point of a quick wiki gives little. Their rivals the Glasgow Lions have an article that mentions them and the video but there's nothing more.

So who knows anything about the Glasgow Diamonds???
